Playing a musical instrument..guitar
Hi. I used to play in a band many years ago and I have always played my guitar at parties etc
But now I can’t even play a chord or strum bare
What has happened to me?
Has anybody else experienced this?

I read the story of Frankie Davidson a famous Scottish singer.He had one big hit in Australia with song called Darlin’. That’s how I found out about this wonderful bloke who never gave up. I was deeply touched by his story.one of courage and I joined his fan club

I have played guitar since I was 15 years old ( 71 now). It became a staple in life, an integral part of how I saw who I was. Since being diagnosed with PD around 2012 and the symptoms included gradual loss of muscle control in my right hand I slowly noticed less and less time playing. Now, ten years later my guitar sits unplayed as my PD has continues to rob my ability to play. Wow Thorvie! Another testament to the fact that you found a way around your inability to play guitar but using what you are able to do: whistle a tune to get the similar results to get your songs recorded. Kudos to you! Are you from Scotland by the way? I spent time there after college working in Stirling area near Glasgow. Beautiful place and people! I've got a beautiful Epiphone Les Paul Koa guitar hanging on the wall, and nobody to play it with my PD
Hi Lauren, I never played guitar very well at all. I tried more than played LOL. I liked a lot of Eric Claptons, Jimmy Page and prrobably at lot that you never heard of, even liked a touch of classical and Flamenco. Motsly acoustic though. Thank you for replying!!! Bob lol! Hi thorvie,unlike you my guitar playing has never been anything spectacular,but I’ve always enjoyed playing a few chords & picking the odd tune,l to find that when I,m in an off period I can’t,t even hold the guitar as it makes my pd worse however if I wait untill I,m truly in an on period I can still play in my modest style untill my wife’s had enough of spoonfull
