I am scheduled soon for DBS surgery for both ET and PD. The surgery is planning to target the VIM and STN using a Boston Scientific land lead which is non directional. Has anyone had this type of DBS surgery before?

I've just began that portion of my journey. The probs were inserted 17 July; the battery was inserted and the lines were connected 31 July; and the neurologist will tune me 26 Aug, using Boston Scientific equipment. The journey continues.

I had my surgery in April and had the generator turned on in May. The procedure has changed my life. Besides tremors, my most troubling symptom was dyskinesia, which greatly affected my stability. I couldn’t walk for any length of time, or be on my feet for too long before the swaying started. Once my generator was turned on, my tremors greatly improved and my dyskinesia had completely disappeared! My husband exclaimed, “I have my wife back!”
